ABOUT ME
After my plans of making the NHL and charting a billboard hit didn't quite pan out, several years worth of various retail jobs ultimately led to my return to school...yet again. Upon being introduced to Geographic Information Systems in my first year course options, I did what should have been obvious to me right after high school, and enrolled in the School of Geography at McMaster University.I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from McMaster University with a focus on Canadian Geography and Geographic Information Science and have since graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming’s Cartographic Specialist program.
During my time at Fleming, I was involved in the Cartographic stream and able to focus on the principles of map production including colour, typography and symbology. I was able to take several opportunities to create stylized maps and fell in love with the process of endlessly refining a map with Photoshop and Illustrator. A few my favourite examples can be found in my Portfolio.
I developed a solid understanding of GIS fundamentals and gained extensive experience with a wide array of industry standard GIS software and hardware with a strong focus on the Esri and Adobe software catalogs.
